Thank you, dear readers ...

... for your visits, your thoughts and kindness ... I'm in a process of discerning what to do with my understanding of the I Ching, after being its student for 28 years ... This blog is one fruition -- one of the forms that my study is evolving into. Your presence ... your comments ... your questions and intuitions all show me a confirmation that this work is good and worthwhile and meaningful ... I would like to release it, eventually, in book form ... and to offer readings / divinations / "seer-sittings" for people ... I have been cultivating a manner of reading for others, and feel ready to inch it out into the world ... Eventually I want to do this professionally -- make it one of my primary vocations (the others being writing, editing, and mentoring other writers).

To that end ... Reader, do you have a question you'd like to offer to the oracle, to the I Ching? The marvel of this wisdom tradition is that it doesn't predict anything; it doesn't give an interpreted answer. Rather, it reveals information about what principles, patterns, and possibilities may be underlying and influencing your situation. It invites contemplation, clarification, and further questions that can lead you into and through the heart of a matter ...

If you would like to receive a reading ... please email me at jaliyajuji@yahoo.ca ... Send me a few words or phrases that express the core of your question ... something essential that I can focus on clearly as I approach the oracle. I will send your response privately via email.

I hope this will give you a deeper sense of how universal, benevolent, lucid and applicable this wisdom tradition is to our common human concerns ...

What a generous offering Jaliya. I will 'think on it' as they say!
I can imagine a truly beautiful book coming from you on the I Ching, and quotable I'm sure it will be :) That is really an exciting prospect!

Dear Jaliya, I agree with Karin. Your offer is very generous. I will also think about it and email you with my request...

Maybe you and Karin should collaborate on an I Ching book? Now that could be something with your contemplations and Karin's beautiful illustrations!

Renee ... Briefly, the I Ching (translated, usually, as "Book of Change") is a wisdom tradition about 3500 years old, based in China ... Its creators / sages observed patterns and interactions in and among the natural elements (i.e., water, wind, fire, etc.), and drew from these, 64 principles that illustrate natural laws and patterns ... Each hexagram represents a principle; examples include Patience (Hexagram/Principle #5), Retreat (#33), Liberation (#40), Revolution (#49), etc. ...

The I Ching is similar in some ways to the Tarot or the Runes ... It is not a "fortune telling" system ... It's more a very practical, benevolent philosophy and a source of information on how to live well, in accordance with natural laws and patterns ...

A reading, or a divination, offers a "snapshot" of a situation, and highlights certain principles that may be helpful in thinking through an issue ... I've been using this system for over 28 years now and it never fails to cast light on any question I ask of it!

xoxo

I hope this makes sense ... :-)

It does make sense Jaliya.

I love any card that does not try to tell you the future but tries to help you understand the present.

love Renee xoxo
