Thunder above, thunder below: no rest

for the wicked,

the weary,

or anyone else.

All our sentience

uproars with

no help

or ground.

If we survive

the shocks,

the aftershocks,

the aftermaths blown 

through being

by chaos,

sturdy ground

will heft us 

once again 

to our feet,

our knees, or

however high 

we can rise

after being bolted, 

blitzed, bombed

and broken -- every

storm 

will

eventually 

pass; 

light

will balm

again
