A book for one of the I Ching's core principles, KINDNESS (aka Benevolence)
Kindness is as intrinsic to our nature as generosity is to our Earth ... and I'm definitely going to read a book that tells me that kindness is "potentially far more promiscuous than sexuality." Marcus Aurelius, after all, called kindness humanity's "greatest delight" ... It certainly has been mine.

Gwen ... I so often wonder if we present-day humans are losing our capacity for wonder ... We must feel safe to allow the mind to wander into curiosity and exploration ... Wonder comes from that ... Sometimes I think of cynicism as skepticism, hardening ... "What's your angle" --> how about a word-play on it; let's think, "What's your angel?" ... ;-) ... I know what you mean re: the cynical eye cast on another's choice to offer a gift; most often now, we tend to deal, rather than give ... If you give openly, there's no expectation of return ... If you deal, you expect and demand something in return -- that is the condition set for giving ... How sad, if we give only because we *want* ... Take a look at my post-cynical blog to see one person's ongoing work to gentle her own hardening ...
Adele ... Isn't that book a treasure? It is so beautifully written and a joy to read & reflect on ...

Deb ... Other books? Must explore ... :-)
